About Karen
Karen had a series of spontaneous awakenings over a period of years that led
to a deep longing to realize the true nature of life and self. This precipitated a period of
intense searching.
"Some teachings and teachers came along that were very helpful. Still there
was no lasting peace, no sense of being able to rest or abide in this peace that
would come and go as it pleased.
I could experience the most profound peace, ease, joy, and
bliss in meditation. Then, sometimes moments later, I would experience some form
of contraction from resistance or reaction to the people or situations in my
life.
A type of intensity built up such that the contrast
between the deep peace experienced in meditation and the pain of contracting led
to a kind of breakdown. I reached a point where I would not go on unless and
until I could find a way to stabilize the peace, to bring the peace into my
daily life. The intention and energy were quite fierce; I stopped all meditation
and felt a determination inside. It was a living force, like fire,
uncompromising, unwavering.
Soon after, someone brought a copy of the book The Power of
Now to my place. As soon as I touched the book, I knew I had found what I was
longing for."
Karen met Eckhart Tolle after reading the book. The day they met, there was
a profound shift.
"The day we met, I sat beside Eckhart in silence. In that moment, it was as if the entire universe revealed itself. Not as
something outside of me, but as my own self.
There was a dropping away of all boundaries, all sense of separateness,
and
an expansion into an indescribable joy and lightness. Its not that 'I' expanded;
the expansiveness of being was experienced directly."
Karen dedicated herself full heartedly to living in
presence. Eventually, Life moved her into a teaching role. After a number
of years of teaching, a new energy began to emerge. Karen left the
teaching role for an extended period in order to create space to explore
this new direction. It was a time of integrating the awakeness more fully
into the human experience.
Karen's work with people now combines the deeply
spiritual with the practical. She supports people in awakening and
deepening the reality of one's true nature as consciousness and aligning
their outer reality with this inner realization. To fully embody the
divine means to be fully human.
